Choosing & Using Art & Ember Candles
What’s the difference between dripless and décor candles?
Dripless candles offer a clean i.e. minimal wax dripping when used properly — away from drafts and within the recommended burn time. Some of our contour candles may naturally drip or pool wax. Check the product page to see what’s recommended for your candle.
How to choose an Art & Ember candles?
All Art & Ember candles are designed to be burned — but some styles are better suited for different experiences.
- For longer burns or events, we recommend our circular pillar and taper candles, which are more stable and drip-resistant when burned properly.
- For artistic or decorative impact, any candle will work beautifully — but our Contour candles are especially sculptural and make a bold statement, even before they're lit.
How do your pillar and taper candles burn for 2–6 hours straight?
We use premium natural wax blends and test every design to ensure a long, even burn — without breaking or overheating with proper usage. Check each product page for the recommended burn time.
Are your candles vegan?
Most of our candles are vegan — including our Collective jar candles, tapers, and many Contour styles. However, some pillar candles and select Contour pieces contain beeswax to support a longer burn times.
Please check each product description for vegan details.

Candle 101
How to burn our jar candles?
B.L.T.
Burn for at least 2 hours, allowing the wax pool to reach the edge of the container or come close to it. If you don't, soy wax has " burn memory" and can tunnel in the future.
Lightyour candles for pnly 2-4 hours. This will sure it doesn't get overheated and make your candles last longer.
Trim your wicks to 1/4 of an inch. Check everytime before burning, this help to ensure the candle doesn't get too hot, less soot and makes your candle less longer.
How do I burn pillar and taper candles safely?
Place your candle on a heat-safe surface or drip tray to catch any wax.
Burn for 2–6 hours at a time, and ensure there are no drafts or nearby objects that could disrupt the flame. Always trim the wick to ¼" before each use for an even burn.
How Long do I burn my candles for?
Burn times vary by candle style. Always refer to the product page for specifics, but here’s a general guide:
- Pillar Candles: 2–6 hours
- Taper Candles: 2–6 hours
- Jar Candles: 3–4 hours
- Contour Candles: Varies by design — some sculptural shapes may have shorter burn times due to their unique forms.
Are you candles okay for scent sensitsensitivity?
Yes! I myself have scent sensitsensitivity, one of the reasons I started making candles. Our candles are strong enough to fill a room without being overpowering.
Are your candles pet friendly?
Of course! Our candles do not use essential oils. Always check with a vet.
My candle is tunnelling help!
Tunneling happens when a candle burns down the middle, leaving wax around the edges. Avoid this by burning long enough (usually 2 hours) to let the wax pool reach the edges.
Easy way fix is is to wrap the candle in aluminum foil to increase the heat to promote an even layer of wax.
